Jake turns 10!

Who knows if anyone still reads this blog? I find it funny that the website for this blog is "jakesbabyblog.blogspot.com" when clearly he hasn't been a baby in a long long time. I haven't posted anything at all in close to three years. Jake turned 10 years old today. Ten years went by in the blink of an eye. The early days of the blog were such fun way to keep in touch with friends and family near and far, and to watch our babies grow. I think a post with Jake turning 10 is a good way for me to officially close the last chapter of this blog. Signing off is bittersweet. Thank you so much for reading and keeping up with our little family, and leaving sweet comments and words of encouragement for us along the way. You can still find us on Facebook and Instagram, and we would love to stay in touch.

Happy 3rd Birthday Ali!

Arriving at 12:04 am three years ago today, my little Ali Beezer is the best birthday present I've ever received. Yup, I share my birthday with this sweet, crazy, funny, energetic, moody, beautiful, hilarious, creative little girl. I can't believe how much she has grown up in the last three years, and I am terrified how quickly the next three years will probably fly by too. Happy Birthday sweet girl, we love you!

Ali has been able to climb out of her crib for a while now. She's had a crib tent in place to prevent her from doing it, but once she has an idea in her head, there's not much that can stop her (can't imagine where she gets that from).

The delightful darling wearing brown, front and center, is my joyful angel. It was such a heart-felt moment to see her singing so cheerful with all of the other preschool children, as the moms and dads were watching and recording this moment for eternity. I am so, so proud as I watch her happy smiling face in celebration of the Christmas holiday:

Halloween 2012

Even Hurricane Sandy's downed power lines, power outages, broken tree limbs and flooding couldn't keep Jake and Ali from trick or treating this year! We had to go over to Mema & Papa's neighborhood in Mamaroneck during daylight hours to collect our loot, but the kids were happy to ring doorbells and scamper up and down the street. Eastchester postponed our trick or treating until Saturday, so Jake got twice the trick or treating in this year!

First Day of School!

This year, Jake started 1st grade. He is in the same school he attended last year. It is only Kindergarten and 1st grade at his school, so now he's one of the "big kids" at school and on the bus. Ali started preschool in the 2's program at the same school where Jake attended the 4's program. Here is a picture of both of them on their first day. So far, everyone is enjoying their school and their new teachers.

Greetings from Dutch Wonderland!

Jake, Ali and I met up with Peepa to spend a fun afternoon and evening at our favorite kids amusement park in Lancaster. Humid but fun! This was the last ride of the night.

Ali's 1st time on a pony!

Peepa just sent this from Dutch Wonderland. The kids are out visiting Geedah and Peepa since school is over but camp is yet to start. Looks like they are having a blast so far! Well, judging from Ali's face, I think the jury is still out on her opinion of pony rides. She's not screaming to get off, so that's a plus. She broke my skin with her fingernails when we were at the zoo on Tuesday and a tiger walked right by the glass. So my fearless girl does have a few fears after all!

And for comparison, I just looked up Jake's first time on a pony four years ago. He doesn't look thrilled either!

Happy SIXTH Birthday Jake!

My favorite boy in the whole world turned SIX years old! I can hardly believe it, he's growing up so fast, despite all of my efforts to keep him my tiny baby boy. I couldn't imagine being more proud to have such a wonderful, loving, funny, gentle, silly, beautiful, amazing boy as my son.

I have tons of videos of Alex eating. Because she loves to eat. And I love to watch her eating. I often wonder why I don't have many videos of Jake eating as a baby and a toddler. And then I remember it's hard to make videos of a sight so rare.
