Yes, this is his third birthday cake, for anyone keeping count.
I think this is probably the first time I have documented the true beauty of a slightly melty Carvel cake...mmmmm...... No, I didn't just try to lick my screen!
Jake's funny "angry face" - this is on cue. Although it may also be a reaction to me swiping some of his melty vanilla ice cream...
Cousin Bec has a good time with Jake's new Spiderman kite. I had fun shooting these unusual angles - I think someone joked about getting all of that in one shot. I made it happen :)
Even Ruthie celebrated by scratching her back on the grass and finding something stinky to roll in.
Jake enjoys his new bubble toys with Emma and Ryan (my parents next-door neighbors, and Jake's York friends)

Cameron had a Carvel cake, too. He says he only likes ice cream cakes, but he really doesn't like those, either. He didn't get that gene from me.
If your mom ever decides to give away her kitchen, may I be first in line? I love it! You've seen my "kitchen," so you know I am deserving.
That pic of you and Jake is adorable, and I also love the bubbles. BTW, I obviously am a huge "Jake's Baby Blog" follower, so I have to ask...isn't that the sink where you photographed Jake as a baby taking a bath? I just remember loving those shots, and it looks like the same sink to me. :)

Awwww...thanks for the link! What a total little doll he was. I remember thinking several things way back when about those pics: 1) you are an insanely talented photographer, 2) I want a kitchen sink with big windows behind it (I have one but it's small) and 3) her kitchen sink is soooooo much cleaner than mine!
Can you believe how big Jake is now?!? I think I was reminded of the baby bathing shots because of the one of Jake sitting on the kitchen island with the sink in the background. He would never fit in that sink now! What a big boy! (sniff, sniff)

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who calls my not a baby anymore son, baby boy.
The sink bath pictures are in Jake's first book - the instant Kristin mentioned them I knew exactly what she was talking about. Soon my brain will be a giant mess of people's photos and stories!
