I mean, seriously?? Don't you want to squeeze him right now through your monitor??? I even made up a song about wanting to squeeze him. The lyrics are ground-breakingly creative: "I want to SQUUUUUEEEEEEZE yoooooou! I want to squuueeeeeze yoooooouuuuu....." I pinch him gently about the cheeks, neck, chin, shoulders and chest. He giggles and squeals with delight. Then he says "NO!," and then says: "Again!"

One of Jake's other favorite funny things to do is have me smell his feet and then pretend I'm going to vomit from the stench. Really. It brings him to fits of hysterics. He has taken to smelling his own feet now, and waving his hand in front of them afterwards: "Peeeeeee-yyyyyyeeeeeewwwww!"

Every day I thank the good Lord for providing me with my camera. Because it takes me five frames per second, for fifteen minutes, and 178 total shots (many of which were out of focus or oddly composed since I was often shooting with one hand and getting him to laugh while my eye was away from the viewfinder), and dodging water so as not to ruin aforementioned blessed camera, to get this. But it is SOOOO worth it!!! :)

Ok, so if it takes a professional 178 shots because of shooting with one hand and getting him to laugh while your eye was away from the viewfinder and dodging water all the while, *imagine* what lovely photographs await a total goofball like me when I try a similar scenario with my children. I assure you, not even one of them looks like any of these classic shots. I adore the stinky feet pic!!! Definitely worth it.
Great tubby time shots. I really like the big smile. What great teeth Jake has already...poor Kyler is already destined for years of braces, like his Mommy and Daddy.
Oh by the way, Kyler loves for me to smell his feet too and yell, Peeeyewww, stinky feet!" Kids are so fuuny
OH MY WORD! These are gorgeous. And 12 times!? I'd say AT LEAST 14 times:)
All I can say is "Those eyes"
I agree - "those eyes"!
Wow! are you traveling to Wisconsin any time soon for photoshoots? :)
I am with kim - Those EYES!!!
Oh, I DO want to squeeze him too!
What a beautiful bubble boy you have!!!
Is your house like filled to the brim with framed photos of him?? It'd be hard not to put that adorable face up all over the place!
Thanks ladies - I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he is squeezable! :)
Hilary - I am embarassed to say that we are still unpacking in a way (yes, 11 months later...) and our framed pictures are still packed away in a storage closet or up the attic. Ugh. It's like the old 'cobbler's kids not having any shoes' thing. Also, my handy-dandy toolbox and I haven't figured out how best to hang pictures on plaster walls yet. Any suggestions?
We do have a big gallery-wrapped canvas image of Jake sitting on our mantle, but it's been waiting to be hung since Christmas, and it's one picture of Jake that I didn't even take! (From our Christmas family portrait session that my friend and fellow photographer Sherri photographed for us.)
Omigosh, those are AWESOME. He's so gorgeous.
I used the 3M things on our wall (to avoid holes, but in your case you wouldn't be able to make them) & they worked really well.
Oh yes do share plaster wall secrets if anyone knows any! We've only been in this house two weeks, but without a miracle my framed photos are destined to stay packed away as well.
I was just commenting to a client today, who's house I was in, how nice it was to see portraits in frames for a change. I stare at them on a computer screen all day and it's just not the same.
Fantastic photos Kelly and how brave of you to bring your camera into the bathroom!
Carrie & Amy - I think the 3M things are probably the easiest and best bet. My dad recommended looking up on google how to nail things into plaster walls, but the only pictures up on our walls so far (in my office) are up with those 3M things. May have to just buy a bunch more of them because I don't want to have to drill giant whole and put wall anchors or anything in there...
YES! I do want to reach in and squeeze him myself. What a lovey little honey that sweetie of yours is. And what a fabulous photographer you are!
Em likes it when I pretend to eat her leg, arm, foot, whatever, and then turn my head and pretend to hurl all over the floor...what is it with these kids:) I guess I'm saying don't worry, he won't grow out of it too soon! And yes, I'd eat his toes, too! And those cheeks, obviously! Yum! Ade xoxox
