I know Peepa Jim is counting on these photos to help nurse him along the road to recovery (doing better day by day, thanks for all of your prayers and kind words!), so I'll keep the text to a minimum and let y'all enjoy the pictures!

Jake and his adorable friend (and our next-door neighbor) Gabriella make the cutest Batman and Supergirl!

Grandma Mary Ellen (aka Geedah) came to stay with us for the weekend, and thank goodness she did, because we needed major help on Jake's costume, which was labeled for "1-2 years, weighing 30-40 pounds" Uhm, what? Anyone know a 40-pound 1 year old? With some creative use of scissors, Batman pajama pants, and black electrical tape, Jake's costume turned out just fine. (Thanks mom!)

Geedah was kind enough to pass out candy at our house, so we took Jake trick-or-treating to a few neighbors' houses as the sun went down. I couldn't believe how early some of the little kids showed up at our door! Glad we were home and prepared (for once)!

Back home with Ru, in her Halloween-themed spider skirt. Luckily she hasn't complained about wearing the same costume a few years in a row ;)

Too cute!!
Holy identical twins, Robin! My Bubby was the exact same Batman! And Santa's bringing him a utility belt that actually fires darts. Oh, that costume will be worn until it is frayed, thin, and tight.
Such adorable pics! Does Jake like Batman or did you choose the costume idea? He and his Supergirl friend are so super cute! And I am relieved to hear that Ruthie is compliant about wearing the same costume; she probably realizes how fashionable she looks. (And BTW...sounds like you did a great job fixing Jake's costume; a 40- pound one-year-old?!? What is the deal with that?!?)
Jake changed his mind about 457 times leading up to Halloween. When he stuck with Batman for three days in a row, I went out and bought the costume and hung it in his room so he would know THAT is what he was going to be. The other options were: puppy, tiger, frog, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Spiderman, Superman, etc etc. And that was only the first time I brought up the concept of Halloween. I seriously don't know how he even knows who these super heroes ARE anyway... And today he mentioned Jimmy Carter - I'm thinking - where do you hear these things???
That is exactly what I looked at on Halloween when I gazed at my little guy. Batman!
Such sweet pictures! Love 'em!
