Jake spent the weekend with Grandma & Grandpa Valentine so that Kelly & Ralph could try to catch up on the 8 million things that aren't getting done lately (laundry, dishes, vaccuming, writing thank you notes, Kelly's freelance, pulling weeds, mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, getting some sleep, feeding the dog regularly, etc). We didn't get a whole lot done, but we did put a dent in the to-do list. Ralph has been travelling like crazy for his job and we have been out of town it seems like every weekend, so our house is a total pigstye and Kelly is ready to pull her hair out of her head. Not to mention Kelly being back to work, Jake being in day care and the whole family getting sick. So things have been, to put it mildly, incredibly hectic.
But Jake still manages to thrive and grow and impress us daily with his bright smile and his complete obliviousness to our craziness. He is such a happy baby and his smile just melts your heart. Over the weekend, he was a very well-behaved boy for his grandparents and he even learned that he has feet! He is delighted to have a new set of body parts to play with and he can't keep his hands off of them. He has also learned, in his big new crib, how to roll onto his side! While laying on his back, he pulls his little feet up to his chest, and then rolls to one side or the other! It is very impressive, and fun to watch. :)
Jake also attended the Guie family picnic this weekend where he got to meet and play with all of his three new cousins Kyler, Ethan and Madison. They took plenty of pictures and I will post them as soon as I get a free moment (ha ha).
Well, better get back to work.... getting fired from my job will not make my life any easier....
